Body Found By Hiker in Kamloops

A hiker in Kamloops made a surprising discovery while hiking Saturday.

At around 1:00 p.m Saturday afternoon, Kamloops RCMP were given a report that a body had been found in a rural area of Kamloops.

The hiker had been hiking through an area of the Kamloops Indian Reserve when he came across a deceased person

Kamloops Rural RCMP as well as the Serious Crimes Unit were called out to the scene. They have since determined the investigation is not criminal in nature.

The matter has been turned over to the BC Coroners Service, who will be handling the investigation from here on out.
