Two traffic stops in the Cariboo Region led to the seizure of over $25,000, which is suspected to be from the proceeds of crime.
On Nov. 17, the Williams Lake BC Highway Patrol stopped a Dodge pickup on Highway 97, south of 100 Mile House.
Officers seized a small quantity of cannabis and over $15,000 in cash.
A week later, officers stopped a vehicle for speeding on Hwy 97, north of Mcleese Lake.
During the second traffic stop, officers seized over 350 grams of suspected illegal cannabis products under the Cannabis Control and Licensing Act.
They also seized $10,000 in cash as proceeds of crime.
Both investigations are ongoing.
“The BC Highway Patrol would like to remind motorists that cannabis products cannot be transported in a vehicle unless it was purchased at a licensed facility, is sealed in its original packaging, and is out of reach of the driver and any passengers,” said Sgt Jason Nash.
