Kamloops RCMP announced they have made an arrest in the robbery and kidnapping investigation that started on February 14th.
According to police, this morning, the Southeast District Emergency Response Team (ERT) in conjunction with Kamloops RCMP arrested an individual on the North Shore. Police surrounded the suspect on Brandon Avenue and he was taken into custody without incident.
Through investigation, the Kamloops RCMP Serious Crime Unit identified suspects who are believed to have been involved in last week's robbery and kidnapping. Due to the fact firearms were used in the crime, Kamloops RCMP engaged the South District ERT.
The 36-year-old suspect is from Kamloops and was previously known to police. Kamloops RCMP continues to target those who pose the greatest risk and commit acts of violence in the community.
The investigation is ongoing and NowMedia will update the story when more information is available.
