City of Kamloops reminds people that Greenstone Park remains closed to the public

The City of Kamloops is reminding locals to stay out of Greenstone Park as construction on the Pemberton Water System continues.

A statement from the city says the Lower Sahali park is an active construction site that remains closed to all unauthorized personnel.

The park closed in mid-February to allow crews to install a new reservoir and booster station in the park.

This work is expected to wrap up in July.

Restoration work is expected to be completed by November and will include rebuilding the irrigation system, installing new turf and maintaining the topography for sledding and tobogganing.

The city says crews are working to minimize dust as the hot, dry summer weather arrives, however, people living in the immediate area can expect some dust and noise from the construction.

Crews will continue working in the area from 7 am to 5:30 pm, Monday to Friday with some weekend work required.
