Kamloops is quite the hub for musical talent and someone who's made it known for that is Madison Olds.
The River City singer-songwriter made headlines again, this time for winning the Fairmont's "Soundtrack to the Pacific Rim Life" contest with her single "Moments in the Mountains."
Olds is the winner of a $50,000 prize package that will see her headline a Vancouver concert in the Lobby Lounge on July 25th between 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. Once in Vancouver, she will get the chance to stay in an Owner's suite at the Fairmont Vancouver and take on two excursions to inspire future songwriting.
Olds beat out over 150 entries from across the nation to claim the win. Her song was judged by a panel of five celebrated industry leaders.
“It was exciting to listen to the caliber of talent that submitted original scores and it’s refreshing to see how many solo artists are creating music in our country," said Jeffrey Latimer, CEO of Canada’s Walk of Fame. "This contest was special in its request for stories of the West Coast and our winner, Madison Olds, has a bright and beautiful sound that is both accessible and powerful.”
