Kamloops Search and Rescue stayed true to their name on Sunday, this time saving a person stuck in Deadman Valley.

According to KSAR President Alan Hobler, crews were called out to the area near Cache Creek at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday to assist BC Ambulance after a person was ejected from their vehicle and went over an embankment near Cache Creek.

"We were called out around, I believe it was 8:30 p.m. to assist BC Ambulance with an injured person that was ejected from their vehicle when their vehicle went over an embankment," said Hobler.

Hobler adds that a rope-rescue was required to get to the injured person.

"They were pretty severely injured, definitely requiring urgent medical treatment."

"Subject was 50-feet down an embankment so we sent our rope rescue team... We had ten members from Kamloops responds and then we had members from Vernon Search and Rescue and South Cariboo Search and Rescue attend as well. So we set up a rope rescue system, hoisted the person back up to the road, and turned them over to BC Ambulance."

Hobler went on to say KSAR was on scene until 1 a.m. this morning.

"We turned the subject over at 12:30 or I believe it was 1 o'clock in the morning, our members were home by 5:30 a.m."
