Kamloops unites to support the Seniors Yard Waste Pickup Program

The City of Kamloops, United Way Thompson-Nicole Cariboo and Interior Community Services are working closely together to improve the Seniors Yard Waste Pickup Program.

“The City has operated this program for years, however, we are limited in our capacity to administer it properly,” says Natalie Serl, the City’s Acting Social and Community Development Supervisor.

“With their Better at Home program, the United Way is better equipped to assess the needs of our residents and administer the program for those with income, mobility, or capacity challenges.”

This program allows seniors to have yard waste, such as grass clippings and leaves, picked up directly from their home.

Registration for fall pickup will start this week!

Seniors are asked to call (250)828-0600 during the following days to ensure they meet eligibility requirements:

  • Wednesday, September 12, 2018, 1 p.m. - 3 p.m.
  • Thursday, September 13, 2018, 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.
  • Wednesday, September 19, 2018, 1 p.m. - 3 p.m.
  • Thursday, September 20, 2018, 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.

Visit the City of Kamloops website for more information and to view guidelines on the Yard Waste Pickup Program.
