Kamloops woman aims to return lost wedding ring

A Kamloops woman has made it her goal to return a wedding ring to a couple who may have lost it on Sunday.

Sara Gillis explained that she was shopping at the Superstore Pharmacy when a piece of gold caught her eye.

"It's just a simple gold band," said Gillis. "It's plain on the outside and it's engraved with the name 'Hank' on the inside."

"So I found it inside Superstore in Sa-Hali. I was over in the pharmacy area and I saw it on the ground and it caught my eye. I decided not to turn it into Superstore because I left my phone number with them instead. Otherwise, I would just take it to other avenues like Facebook and Reddit to try and find the owner. I thought it would have a better chance."

Gillis adds that the band has a date on the inside, though so far she has kept that to herself for security reasons.

"There is a date on there, and I've kind of been keeping that secret in hopes that the person, whoever it belongs to, can identify the date."

Thus far, no one has come forward to claim the ring. Gillis went on to say that she could be looking for Hank's wife as the ring seems to fit a more slender hand.

"I've had a couple people try and connect to other Hanks on Facebook, but nobody has come to me, I haven't been in touch with anyone, unfortunately. No Hanks but I have a feeling I'm looking for Hank's wife... It fits my wedding finger beautifully, I wear it, people ask me about it now and I'm like 'oh still looking for the owner.' But it's a small ring and I would think that whoever got married to Hank would have that ring engraved with their name."

"I feel it makes sense, I think I'm looking for Hank's wife or Hank!"
