A man wanted on a Canada-wide warrant out of Kamloops for armed robbery, assault with a weapon and forcible confinement has been arrested in Vancouver.
According to the Kamloops RCMP, 33-year-old Robert James Rennie was arrested after a traffic stop around 2:20 am on Monday.
He was wanted in connection to a Valentine’s Day 2019 kidnapping, which involved four victims.
Rennie was one of three men arrested by the Kamloops RCMP as part of the investigation into the kidnapping, along with Michael Mathieson and Justin Daniels.
However, he obtained bail following his arrest, fled from a halfway house in April 2020 and has been on the run ever since.
Mathieson and Daniels have both been sentenced to 6.5 and 7.5 years respectively for their role in the kidnapping.
Rennie remains in custody and is awaiting his next court appearance on March 11.
