RCMP searching for whoever left a grenade on Grandview Terrace

The Kamloops RCMP is hoping to track down whoever left a smoke grenade just lying in the street.

On Sunday, officers were notified that a grenade like object was left on Grandview Terrace, near Columbia Street West.

Police attended the scene and discovered that it was a grenade that had been activated, but failed to ignite.

The area was cordoned off as the RCMP Explosive Disposal Unit were called in.

They seized the grenade before safely disposing of it.

It was confirmed that the object was correctly identified as a smoke grenade, but it’s unknown what its origin is.

The investigation into the make and model of the smoke grenade is continuing and the RCMP is asking for the public’s assistance to identify the person that left it on Grandview Terrace.
