Suspect arrested at Kamloops residence after stabbing victim shows up at hospital

One man is recovering in hospital and another is in custody after a stabbing in Kamloops on Wednesday.

The RCMP was called to Royal Inland Hospital around 3:45 pm after a man entered the emergency room suffering from stab wounds.

While his injuries were life-threatening, police said he is in stable condition at this time.

Officers were able to identify a potential suspect and crime scene, which was an address on Brandon Avenue.

They attended the address and arrested a Kamloops man without incident.

“Thanks to the collaboration of frontline officers and other available RCMP resources, police were able to make a quick arrest in this serious incident and promptly move forward the investigation,” said Insp. Jeff Pelley.

A police presence remains at the residence on Brandon Avenue at this time as officers continue their investigation.

The RCMP said the parties are known to each other and the general public is not believed to be at risk.

Anyone who witnessed this incident, or has any information related to the investigation, is urged to contact the Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000.
