A man was sent to hospital with serious injuries following a hit and run on Friday evening.
According to Corporal Joe Duncan with Kelowna RCMP, just after 6:00 p.m. a white cube van was tailgating a Toyota Highlander while driving southbound on Glenmore. While the men were driving their respective vehicles, some offensive hand gestures were made.
Once they were stopped at the Glenmore Road North and John Hindle Drive intersection, the man from the Toyota got out of his car to confront the driver of the van.
After the light turned green, the driver in the van took off, striking the man, knocking him to the ground, and running him over before driving away.
The victim was rushed to Kelowna General Hospital with some serious, but non-life threatening, injuries. As of Sunday at 8:00 p.m., he was still receiving treatment in hospital.
There were several witnesses in the area, but a licence plate number was not obtained. The driver of the white cube van has been described as in his early 20s with dark hair.
