It will be a sizzling good time at the second annual Great Canadian Bacon Chase in Kelowna.
Pork lovers will enjoy unlimited amounts of B.C. bacon while raising money for the Kelowna Jaycees, a group of young male professionals who are working to become local leaders while impacting the community in a positive way.
“By running and eating unlimited B.C. bacon, you will be helping the community’s young leaders be better,” said organizer Kevin Lavigne on the event’s website.
This ultimate race for bacon begins at Parkinson Recreation Centre on Sunday, September 27th at 9 a.m. with two routes to choose from.
Participants can take part in the 5 km Scurry down the Rails for Trails where multiple bacon stations will be set up. The .05 km Saunter is the fastest way to reach bacon heaven with a 164 foot walk from the parking lot to the Pig Pen where delicious bacon will be waiting.
Cost ranges in price from $5 for Cracklins (ages six and under) to $40 for Very Important Porklovers.
