The BC Coroners Service has identified a 63-year-old Kelowna cyclist who was killed after colliding with a vehicle.
Imre James Nagy was riding his bicycle northbound on Belgo Road on Friday, September 25th at about noon when he was hit at the Springfield Road intersection.
Nagy was transported to Kelowna General Hospital, but died the next day.
The investigation into this collision continues as according to Kelowna RCMP Cpl. Joe Duncan the cyclist may have ran a stop sign.
“It’s alleged that the cyclist ran a stop sign, came out onto Springfield Road, and was struck,” said Duncan.
According to Duncan the motorist tried to stop, but wasn’t able to avoid the collision.
No charges have been laid at this time. It has yet to be confirmed whether the cyclist was wearing a helmet at the time or not.
