New Commercial Plaza Proposed for Glenmore Neighbourhood

If everything goes according to plan, the Glenmore region in Kelowna could have a new commercial plaza to shop at.

Kelowna Council is expected to approve a development permit for a new 22,000 square foot commercial plaza, located at the intersection of Glenmore Road and Summit Drive.

Kelowna staff said that the proposed development of the property at 720 Valley Road meets the majority of permit guidelines, and will enhance the aesthetics and functionality of nearby neighbourhoods.

The applicant has proposed a mixture of materials to be implemented along the Summit Road front to create a “varied façade.”

Developers will also implement a functional network of sidewalks, as well as a variety of different trees and benches.

In addition, the proposed complex will incorporate a single drive-tru, which will be screened from Glenmore and Summit Roads, but will not be visible from any public roadway.

Council is expected to approve the development permit during Monday’s regular Council meeting.
