Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for roads in the B.C. Interior.

A strong fall storm is expected to bring rain and snowy conditions to the Coquihalla Highway, Trans-Canada Highway, and the Okanagan Connector.

Snow has started over the highest elevations of the Okanagan Connector and Kootenay Pass and snow is expected Saturday morning at the Rogers Pass. Accumulations of up to 10 centimetres are expected before the snow changes to rain later Saturday afternoon.

A storm spreading heavy rain inland from the Pacific Highway is expected to bring heavy rainfall on the Coquihalla Highway between Hope and Merritt. Rainfalls up to 70 millimetres are expected on this stretch of highway and drivers can expect limited visibility.

Travellers are advised to monitor current and future forecasts and warnings on the Environment Canada website.
