Kelowna music director and morning show host has been nominated for a Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA) Award.
Country 100.7’s Roo Phelps is among the list of impressive talent nominated in 42 award categories for the 2016 awards. Phelps has been nominated for Music Director of the Year – Medium or Small Market. She is up against four other music directors from across the country.
Phelps co-hosts the morning show on the highly popular Kelowna based station with Casey Clarke. Phelps has worked on air as a producer in markets throughout the province since 1999 including several years in Vancouver.
“What an absolute thrill to wake up on #CCMAnomday and see that I've made it to the final ballot for Music Director of the year,” said Phelps on social media about her nomination. “I have been so fortunate for the guidance, direction, and patience of Casey Clarke as he's helped me grow in a role that I'm still fairly new to. He and I, and our entire team at Country 100.7 are crazy stupid over the moon passionate about Canadian Country Music, and we love love love being able to share that with you. Established in 1976, the CCMA is a membership-based, not-for-profit organization committed to the promotion and recognition of Canadian country music. The awards will be handed out in London, Ont. On Sun. Sept., 11.
