Jessica Laplante started a GoFundMe page for her former partner, Trevor Wyness, who has stage 4 pancreatic cancer.

The pair has a daughter together, who is now 12-years-old. When she was just a baby, Wyness would work six days a week at Mr. Lube to support Laplante and Kaija. He's been working at Mr. Lube for the past 13 years.

After having sudden bouts of pain, Wyness, who is 37-years-old, went to the doctor to get it checked out. That is when he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. The father went through more testing and doctors found out that his cancer had spread to his liver.

Laplante started this GoFundMe page to help out Wyness in his time of need.

“He is not one to ask for money, however, he really needs some financial help to fill the gap just to simply live... to take the extra burden off the shoulders and have peace to focus on prolonging life and reducing stress,” she explained in the GoFundMe page.

Wyness battled alcoholism throughout his life, but in December he made the decision to never pick up a bottle again. After spending the past month in the hospital, Wyness has been allowed to come home.

Laplante said this has been a heartbreaking time.

“This has been extremely taxing emotionally as we watched a hard working father lose 86 pounds and have to discuss the worst case scenario with our little girl who adores her dad he may not be around for her graduation, wedding day or birth of her first baby in years to come.”
