Ever wondered if you could out run the cops? The Gratitude Games will give members of the community a chance to see just how fit an RCMP officer needs to be an effective first responder.
On Wednesday, Oct 26, Global Fitness will host the Gratitude Games. The event is being organised as an entertaining way for Kelowna residents to show their appreciation of local first responders.
The Gratitude Games will feature a fun obstacle course for participants to complete. The course will be set up on Global Fitness’s indoor tennis courts and is designed to be completely inclusive so all ages and levels of fitness can have fun. Local members of the RCMP and a team of UBCO’s Health and Sciences students will be present to help guide participants through the obstacle course and encourage them to try their best.
The event is free for all who want to come and try the obstacle course and donations can be made online at the gratitude games website. The donations will go towards Honour House, which is a refuge and a home away from home for Canadian Forces, emergency services personnel and their families to stay while receiving medical care in the Metro Vancouver area.
The event is all about moving and having fun and members of the community are encouraged to come out and give the obstacle course a go. Participants will be entered into a draw with a chance to win prizes like a six-month membership to Global Fitness and sessions with a personal trainer.
