Robinson is widely regarded as the first DJ to play rock and roll in Canada.
In a career that has spanned six decades, Robinson has interviewed the likes of Elvis Presley and the Beach Boys.
This Wednesday Nov. 16, Robinson will be visiting Kelowna and West Kelowna as part of the Better Hearing Expo to speak about his recent battle with hearing loss.
“Hearing loss is responsible for negative decreases in emotional, social and most alarmingly mental functions,” said Calin Vanbergen of NextGen Hearing.
“New research shows those suffering from hearing loss can be up to five times as likely to develop dementia depending on the severity of their hearing loss if left untreated.” added Vanbergen.
Robinson will talking about the positive effect hearing treatment has had on him and the specific hearing aid that has helped reduce background noise common at hockey games and restaurants that makes it so hard to hear for those suffering from hearing loss.
You can hear Robinson speak in Kelowna at the Coast Capri Hotel at 10 a.m. and at the Heritage Retirement Resort in West Kelowna at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov 16.
