Concert Announcement: Rock The Lake 2017 Line Up

This morning, KelownaNow is excited to reveal the official line up for Rock The Lake 2017! Classic Rock Fan? Expect to be excited.

Featuring some of the biggest names in Canadian Classic Rock, Rock The Lake 2017, which takes place August 11th to 13th, is promising to be bigger, better and even more badass than 2016.

But how could it get better than Loverboy, Trooper, and Prism headlining this festival last year? Well, I’m glad you’ve asked. As a classic rock enthusiast, I can no longer contain my excitement not only about this year's headliners, but the entirety of this killer lineup.

April Wine

Yep, that's right! This 1970’s Nova Scotian Rock group will be dazzling the RTL stage this year as one of the three headliners. Funk-fueled guitar riffs, amazing tenor vocals, and just good time party music is what you can expect from these guys as they play some of their top hits such as “You Could Have Been A Lady” , “Roller”, and “Tonight Is a Wonderful Time to Fall In Love”.

Kim Mitchell

This 80’s progressive rocker is sure to have heads banging and the crowd singing. The Ontario-born rocker will stun crowds with his raspy vocals, catchy tunes, and stellar guitar solos in some of his popular tracks like “Go For a Soda” and “Rockland Wonderland”.

Honeymoon Suite

One of the best opening acts for some of the biggest names in Classic Rock like Journey, Heart, and Billy Idol, Honeymoon Suite will be gracing audiences as a headliner at RTL 2017 and we couldn’t be more psyched to see them! Packed with synth and hard rockin instrumentation, these guys are sure to be a crowd-pleaser with their killer set list. I don’t know about you, but I'm hoping they’ll feature their incendiary single “New Girl Now”.

As If you weren’t already excited enough about these three insane headliners, just wait until you see the rest of the lineup!

Platinum Blonde will be bringing their 1980’s pop rock and hopefully glorious hair to the RTL stage. Speaking of Pop Rock, Doug and the Slugs will be bringing their unique sound and well-known jams. Though we lost Doug in 2004, it is our duty as Rock fans to rock out even harder in his honour.
Chilliwack in all their whimsical rockin’ glory will have fans wondering “what we’re gonna do when their gone” following an expectedly exceptional performance.
Rik Emmett, a founding member and previous lead singer of Triumph and successful solo artist, is set to bring his eclectic musical library to the stage, we’re hoping for some of Triumph's top hits. With a brief reunion on Emmett's new studio album, I’m certainly wondering if we’re in for a treat.
Ladies! There will also be more female Rock and Roll royalty this year as the female powerhouse vocal duo their and stellar band, Toronto, will be gracing the stage along with Sass Jordan and even Carole Pope of Rough Trade!

Looking for some heavy metal to thrash, bounce, and headbang to? Look no further than Helix! We cannot wait to headbang into whiplash and mosh through the entirety of these Ontario hard rocker’s set.

Now that you know 2017’s monster lineup, get your wallets ready as full weekend passes and VIP packages go on sale December 9th at 10 a.m. at www.selectyourtickets.com.

Not sure what to expect? Check out our coverage of last years festival!

Onward fellow rockers, go let your ears be blessed by the sweet nothings of these amazing bands. I’m sure you’ll become even more ecstatic about this three day weekend of pure bliss - if being more ecstatic is even possible!
