Things to do on spring break in Kelowna

There’s still time get out and do some fun activities on your spring break. Whether it’s with family or friends, here are few things you can check out this week in the Okanagan.

GET OUTSIDE

1. Go Hiking

Most of the snow has melted from Knox Mountain and the trails are ripe for hiking.

Whether you're looking for an intense, to-the-top hike or a leisurely stroll to Paul's Tomb, there's something for every level of activity.

Why not take the dog too?

2. Spring Skiing

This is when the goggle tan happens. Get your light gear and hit the slopes for some fun spring skiing.

Kids Ski 12 and under ski for free at Big White. (Check site for dates). Silver Star Mountain and Apex Mountain are also open for spring skiing.

If it's snowshoeing you're into, then hit the Kelowna Nordic Centre or Telemark.

3. Bikes and Ice Cream

Get the Bikes out and ride through City Park downtown. Yes, Moo-lix is open for the season.

4. Basketball in City Park

Have you seen these courts? They're newly renovated with freshly painted lines to boot.

Get your game on and have some fun in the park.

5. Go-Karting

Why not beat the summer rush and hit the race track? Scandia Golf and Games also has mini golf and batting cages for your outdoor needs.

STAY INSIDE

1. Board Game Day

Tired of playing Monopoly? Quantum Games will have something to suit your gaming needs.

But be prepared, this game shop is for serious, strategy gamers.

2. Kelowna Art Gallery

Looking for some culture? The Art Gallery is constantly changing its exhibits. Admission is free on Thursdays.

3. Wave Pool at H20

Whether it's the wave pool, the hot tub, diving board or water slides, there's a way to get wet and have fun.

Check out the H20 Adventure and Fitness Centre for details.

4. Climb Time

It's basically an all-ages jungle gym. Test your skills at either Gneiss Climbing Gym or Beyond The Crux Climbing Gym.

Test your climbing skills and burn off that excess energy.

5. Movie matinee

Whether it's a matinee or a cheap night at the movies, there's tons of options.

Don't forget about Toonie Thursdays at the Encore theatre in West Kelowna.

6. Laser Tag

There's nothing like sneaking around corners in the dark and holding brightly-lit lasers to nab your friends with.

It's bound to get your heart pumping.

7. Art Camps

The Rotary Centre for the Arts runs a variety of art camps for all ages. From pottery to painting, there's something for everyone.
The next art camp runs on Monday March 27th.
