Kelowna City Council is being asked to support a 42-unit townhouse project east of Okanagan College.
On Monday, city planners will be asked to consider issuing a development permit for a project at the corner of KLO Road and St. Amand Road.
The project was rezoned in August 2024.
All of the units are planned to have three bedrooms.
It will consist of eight buildings centered around a drive aisle that will have two entry points off St. Amand Road.
Each building will be three storeys in height.
A total of 90 parking stalls will be provided in private garages along with six surface parking stalls for visitors and eight short-term bicycle parking stalls.
According to the developer’s landscaping plans, 16 large trees with 32 trees in total.
The city staff report headed to council says there will be two common amenity spaces, which will include a playground area in the southwest corner and a seating area on the northern portion of the site.
City staff say the proposal conforms with the majority of Official Community Plan design guidelines including keeping main building entries visible, incorporating a range of architectural features to create visual interest and incorporating landscaping and amenity space to encourage gathering and recreation.
City planners also point out that no variances are being requested.
This project’s form and character will be reviewed during the afternoon meeting on Feb. 10.
