Antique truck in ‘showroom condition’ stolen from fenced lot in downtown Kelowna

Police are hoping the public can help track down an antique truck that was stolen in Kelowna this week.

The burnt orange-coloured 1958 GMC half-ton truck was reported stolen to the RCMP around 2:30 pm on Tuesday.

The vehicle is reportedly in “showroom condition” and valued at $35,000-45,000.

According to the owner, it was taken from a secured, fenced parking lot in the 1300 block of St. Paul Street sometime overnight.

The RCMP says marks in the gravel where the truck was last seen indicate that a tilt trailer was used to steal the vehicle.

"The passionate owner of this truck invested hours of his time and money into this vehicle,” said Cst. Mike Della-Paolera. “The truck does stand out, and we want to return it as soon as possible to its rightful owner.”

Unfortunately, police have no suspects or witnesses at this time and are urging anyone with information, or anyone with relevant surveillance or dash cam footage from the area, to come forward.
