For the third time today, School District 23 has issued a release regarding a confirmed COVID-19 case at a Central Okanagan public school.
This time, Interior Health has confirmed that a member of the Anne McClymont Elementary School community has tested positive for the virus.
The affected person is currently self-isolating at home with support from local public health teams and IH is following up with anyone potentially exposed to a case through contact tracing.
It's the first COVID-19 case at the Kelowna elementary school and exposure dates are not yet available on the IH website.
“The safety and well-being of students, families, and staff remains our highest priority,” said the SD23 release.
“Central Okanagan Public Schools will continue to implement the strict health and safety protocols and procedures that are in place so students and staff can continue to attend school as safely as possible.”
As always, SD23 and IH will continue to work closely to determine if additional actions are required, as well as to support ongoing communication to the Anne McClymont Elementary community.
All students and faculty members are reminded to stay home from school if they show any symptoms of COVID-19.
