Interior Health has declared a COVID-19 outbreak at a long-term care home in Kelowna.
According to IH, the outbreak was declared at Orchard Manor after one staff member tested positive for Coronavirus. To this point, no residents have tested positive and none have shown symptoms.
Thankfully, the outbreak has been contained to the building.
Interior Health will continue to monitor the situation while implementing more infection control measures. To protect the close to 161 residents in the home, all visits will be temporarily stopped.
Anyone who may have visited the area is also being urged to stay cautious and monitor themselves for symptoms.
Since the start of the pandemic, no residents living in Interior long-term care homes have tested positive for COVID-19. The health authority is working to keep that number at zero.
