The CSN Father’s Day Car Show is set to return to Kelowna’s City Park on Sunday, June 18.
From 11 am to 4 pm, community members can take part in the “free, fun, fueled” event featuring a line-up of vehicles from hot rods to custom cars to motorcycles.
There will be a dedicated kids zone and over 20 food and beverage vendors.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to place a bid in the Car-BQ silent auction.
All proceeds from the car show will go towards the Child Advocacy Centre, which is a non-profit organization that provides an inspired, child-friendly environment dedicated to supporting those impacted by child abuse and neglect.
In addition, the CAC is giving away a 2012 Dodge Challenger and raffle tickets are available for purchase now until 1 pm on Sunday. The winner will be announced at the car show at 2 pm.
To accommodate the event, traffic routes will be maintained in the downtown core as participants make their way into the park with the vehicles.
Lane and parking restrictions will be in effect along Leon Avenue, Water Street, Lawrence Avenue and Abbott Street from 6 to 11 am on Sunday.
Traffic control personnel will be on site and motorists are advised to be aware of increased traffic in the area.
Parking in the first bay of the main lot at City Park will be restricted starting at 3 pm on Saturday, June 17, to allow for set-up.
Both the first and second bay will be closed throughout the day on Sunday.
Vehicles and vendors will be in the grass area adjacent to the parking lot and children’s playground.
Accessible parking will still be available in the City Park parking lot.
There will also be a shuttle service that will run between Kelowna Regional Library at 1380 Ellis Street and City Park for those attending the car show.
Vehicle and event load-out from City Park will begin at 4 pm and is expected to end at approximately 7 pm. Parking in the main lot at City Park will then reopen to the public.
Up-to-date parking space availability for the Library Plaza Parkade at 1360 Ellis Street, Memorial Parkade at 1420 Ellis Street and Chapman Parkade at 345 Lawrence Avenue can be found here.
Community members are encouraged by the City to reduce traffic and parking congestion by biking, walking or carpooling.
