What makes Canada Day special to you?

A sea of red and white flooded Downtown Kelowna to show their spirit on Canada Day.

Participating in the variety of family-fun activities that are decorating the boardwalk from Waterfront Park to City Park is only part of the reason everyone has gathered together.

We asked citizens sporting some of the coolest red and white attire what their favourite part of being Canadian is, and what they love about Canada Day- this is what they told us.

This couple celebrated Canada Day in a unique way. When asked why they chose to get married on Canada Day they said, "We will always have fireworks on our anniversary!"

Like every Canada Day, the celebration concludes with a firework show on Okanagan Lake and this year's firework show was sponsored by Century 21.

When asked why they chose to sponsor this year's firework festivities, the managing partner, Anna Carbonne said, "Century 21 has always been a huge supporter of Canada Day, but this year was different because we were rebranding. We thought this year we would utilize this opportunity to celebrate Canada Day with the community and celebrate our rebranding."
