The heat has hit Kelowna in full force, which has the City Water Utility reminding customers to be water smart.
Properties owners are urged to include proper irrigation and watering practices in their summer plans, both saving the customer money and reducing peaks in water use.
Assigned day watering is in effect, which limits City of Kelowna customers to three days a week of watering.
Under the current restrictions:
On those days, customers can use automatic timer sprinkler systems between midnight and 6 a.m., while manual sprinklers are permitted between 6 a.m. and 10 a.m., as well as between 7 p.m. and midnight.
Water restrictions from normal, where they are now, to ‘stage four,’ with increasing water use restrictions.
Normal is the default for the City Water Utility and is in place at all times unless declared otherwise.
