Kelowna city council has approved plans to shrink Orchard Park for the second time in a year.
The mall will now cut another 14,600 square feet of retail space from the former Sears location along with the building’s southwest end and add 126 parking stalls.
That comes after the decision in April to cut 12,000 square feet from the same retail location’s floor plan to make room for 263 parking stalls.
The remaining 35,000 square feet of the former Sears location will now be divided into five commercial retail units.
In the process, council also approved plans to convert the old site of Ernies Place Neighbourhood Pub into a parking lot.
A large section of the old Sears location is already scheduled to become a Mark’s Work Wearhouse clothing store, but the occupants of the five other spaces have yet to be named.
Plans have also been approved to close the Baron Road entrance along Dilworth Drive.
