A Kelowna man is recovering from his injuries after being hit by a car.
Kelowna RCMP and BC Ambulance were called to the scene at Sarsons Road and Pinegrove Road at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
Investigators determined that a brown Chevrolet Malibu was heading westbound on Sarsons Road when it struck a 67-year-old man while completing a left hand turn onto Pinegrove Road.
A nearby resident heard the incident and immediately called 911, and was able to provide first aid to the pedestrian until emergency crews could arrive on scene.
The man was rushed from the scene and transported to hospital to be treated for his injuries, which are believed to be non-life threatening in nature.
The 19-year-old Kelowna man driving the Chevrolet Malibu stayed on scene and fully cooperated with the investigation.
“RCMP have ruled out alcohol as a factor in the collision, however, believe that the glare from the setting sun likely played a role in this unfortunate incident,” said Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey.
