The fundraiser for Danica Guinto was started by one of her co-workers at Childhood Connections, a daycare located not far from the scene of the collision.

“Her commitment to the care and well-being of the children in our drop-in childcare program is nothing short of incredible,” wrote Guinto’s co-worker, Karli Sanderson.

“Danica’s ability to make every child feel seen, included and valued is truly inspiring. She’s a big reason why our daycare was recognized as the best daycare in Kelowna in 2024 and we know how much her presence brightens the lives of the children and families we serve.”

Since the online fundraiser was started less than 24 hours ago, it has raised more than $6,600 towards its $7000 goal.

“Danica is not just a colleague, but a dear friend and we want to ensure she has the financial support to focus solely on her recovery,” Sanderson added in the fundraiser’s description.

“We are raising funds to cover her medical expenses and any other financial burdens during this incredibly difficult time.”

The online fundraiser can be found online at this link.
