A GoFundMe has been set up for the victim of a downtown Kelowna road rage incident last month, who remains in hospital two weeks later.
The incident happened around dinner time on May 29 and it left 54-year-old Mohsen Mogimkhani with a serious head injury.
Originally from Iran, Mogimkhani has no family living in Canada so the GoFundMe was set up by Mogimkhani’s coworkers at Kelowna Toyota.
Those coworkers, along with his friends and neighbours, describe Mogimkhani as one of the nicest guys you’ll ever meet.
They attribute the unfortunate incident, which ended with an alleged sucker punch, to the language barrier.
“Mohsen's condition looks like it will be a lengthy road to recovery,” reads the GoFundMe. “As his coworkers, we would like to do everything we can to support Mohsen through care, rehabilitation, or needs that are to come.”
“Our request is to reach $10,000.00 because we are looking at long term care.”
The response so far has been fantastic, with more than $6,000 being raised by 85 people in only three days.
The other party involved in the May 29 incident, a 37-year-old from south central B.C., was taken into police custody and released without charges.
