The perfect event for sweet tooths is set to return to Kelowna next month.
Kelowna MapleFest will be held over multiple days in late April and there will be plenty of tasty treats and fun to be had for the whole family.
Presented by the Centre Culturel Francophone de l’Okanagan, Kelowna MapleFest will feature a variety of maple syrup-themed events and experiences over three days.
It all kicks off on Thursday, April 27, with a screening of the movie The Time Thief at the Centre Culturel Francophone de l’Okanagan building at Bernard and Richter.
The real action gets going on the weekend with plenty of fun planned over two days starting with the Family Day X Rustic Market at Stuart Park on Saturday, April 29.
There will be plenty of family-friendly activities throughout the day, including face painting, bouncy castles, circus workshops and live music,” organizers explain. “Let's not forget all the delicious food, such as maple taffy on snow, poutine and pea soup.”
New this year is the Rustic Market, which gives attendees a chance to meet and support local artisans. All of Saturday’s activities are free.
On Sunday, Kelowna MapleFest will finish up with the traditional sugar shack brunch at the Laurel Packinghouse from 10 am until 1 pm.
There will be pancakes, ham, scrambled eggs, baked beans and plenty of other tasty maple-inspired dishes.
The Old Time Fiddlers will provide the soundtrack to brunch with some folk tunes that will ensure the ambiance is just right. Tickets for brunch are $8-25.
