Sundays are for relaxing, football and talking the dog(s) for a nice long walk.
On Sunday, Oct. 27, you can sleep in, watch a bit of the football on TV and then get your butt down to the Mission Creek Greenway for a Halloween Dog Walk.
The event is being put on by the Global Awareness Club at Kelowna Secondary School and it’s a fundraiser for Paws It Forward.
"Paws it Forward is a Kelowna based charity that focuses on rescuing, rehabilitating and finding loving forever homes for dogs that have been surrendered, abused, neglected or abandoned,” says Hannah Robertson, vice-president of the Global Awareness Club.
“The proceeds from our event will go towards vet bills and other basics such as food, toys, crates, leashes, etc.”
It all begins at 3 pm, with participating parties being asked to meet at the Mission Creek Dog Park by the Kinsmen Softball Complex.
Registration is by donation and there will be a dog costume contest, a raffle for a basket of dog treats and goodies and a lovely walk along the greenway, of course.
Dog costumes are encouraged, but certainly not necessary to join in on the fun!
