(Original Story) - An accident that shut down part of Richter Street in downtown Kelowna on Tuesday resulted in a 58-year-old Kelowna cyclist sustaining life-threatening injuries.

According to RCMP, a serious collision between a cyclist and a full-sized pickup occurred along Richter Street near the intersection of Doyle Avenue around 12:30 p.m.

Initial information gathered by investigators at the scene suggests that both the cyclist and the driver of the black Ford F350 pickup truck were southbound on Richter Street when the collision occurred.
