Man in hospital following stabbing at a Kelowna orchard

A man was rushed to hospital from a Kelowna orchard on Monday night.

The 31-year-old reportedly underwent emergency surgery after being stabbed in the back by a 29-year-old man.

The two men were both seasonal workers living in a shared accommodation at the orchard located on the 4300 block of Old Vernon Road.

RCMP promptly took the 29-year-old man into custody, where he faces potential charges related to the incident.

The 31-year-old man continues to recover from his injuries, which police believe to be non-life threatening in nature.

“RCMP continue to secure the crime scene, as investigators with the Kelowna RCMP General Investigation Section await a warrant to search the property and gather physical evidence,” states Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey of the Kelowna RCMP.

Anyone with any additional information is asked to contact the Kelowna RCMP at 250-762-3300.
