Mayor Colin Basran and many others were up bright and early today for a special meeting at the Spirit of the Sail monument in downtown Kelowna.
That’s where Basran made a proclamation that declared Nov. 28 as November Project Community Day in Kelowna.
The November Project is a fitness movement born in Boston as a way for people to stay in shape during the colder months.
It’s expanded to multiple cities around the world and uses a simple sense of accountability to motivate and encourage people of all ages, shapes, sizes and fitness levels.
Dear movement, happy 7 years! Here's to 700 more of changing the world one workout at a time. 🇺🇸🇨🇦🇮🇸🇷🇸🇳🇱🇬🇧ðŸ‡ðŸ‡°ðŸ‡²ðŸ‡¾

“Our members vary from Olympic medalists, professional athletes, marathoners, triathletes, current and former collegiate athletes all the way to complete fitness rookies and recent couch potatoes just looking to kickstart their healthy life choices,” says the November Project website.
“If you think that you’re not fit enough to join the group, stop thinking and come see what the fuss is all about.”
The Kelowna group meets at 6:29 a.m. every Wednesday at the Sails to partake in some sort of group physical activity.
Also on hand on this morning was Casey Clarke from New Country 100.7, as Clarke and the station have been vocal supporters of the movement.
