New Kelowna RCMP Cst. Warren Ning aims to slow down speeders in school zones

There’s a new man on the force for the Kelowna RCMP.

The RCMP department’s latest officer may be a bit skinny, but he has one purpose and one purpose only.

He’s trying to slow down speeders in Central Okanagan school zones.

Of course, Cst. Ning is just a cardboard cutout, but he’ll be set up in various school zones across the region in hopes of making drivers think twice before eclipsing the 30 km/h mark.

"Meet Kelowna RCMP Cst. Warren Ning, the Municipal Traffic Section’s newest recruit,” reads a social media post from the RCMP.

“Cst. Ning has taken his first post in school zones across the Central Okanagan school district, in order to slow speeders.”

Although Cst. Ning can’t hand out tickets, because he’s made of cardboard, he’ll serve as a great reminder to drivers that officers could be set up anywhere with a radar gun.

Maybe they’ll even set themselves up behind Cst. Ning!
