A great opening weekend of sales has the start of construction on the horizon for One Water Street’s West Tower.
A total of 140 units, ranging from $299,000 to $1 million, were sold with a collective value of $70 million.
Out of town buyers were the dominant force once again, as 60% of buyers were from the Lower Mainland.
Despite the hot start, there are still a number of great homes still available like two-bedroom lakeview units, as well as three-bedroom townhomes.
No matter when those remaining units go off the market, construction has now been bumped up once again and is set to start a full year ahead of schedule.
“With this many homes sold, we’ll be ready to advance the start of construction on the West Tower to this summer,” said Leonard Kerkhoff, vice president of Kerkhoff Construction.
“The interest in both buildings is nothing short of amazing and has exceeded all our expectations.”
Meanwhile, Henry Bereznicki of North American Development Group attributes the successful opening weekend of sales to the West Tower having “more of the popular floor plans that sold most quickly in the East Tower.”
Bereznicki said the larger balconies in the West Tower units don’t hurt matters either.
Construction on the East Tower is underway with piling for its foundation being completed earlier this month.
The East Tower completion is expected in 2021 and the West Tower is to be completed in early 2022.
