Downtown Kelowna will be home to hundreds of classic cars, hot rods, rat rods, muscle cars and genuine collectibles this weekend.
The Show N Shine on Bernard Avenue was rescheduled after the wildfire situation in August and will kick off on Saturday at 11 am.
The family-friendly event will cause some road closures on Bernard from Kerry Park to St. Paul Street.
A release from the city says the 200 and 500 blocks of Bernard Avenue will be closed to vehicle traffic from 7 am until about 6 pm.
A section of Pandosy Street will also be closed between the rear laneways on either side of Bernard Avenue to accommodate the event but through roads at Water Street and Ellis street will remain open to vehicles.
No parking will be allowed along the 200 to 500 blocks of Bernard or the 1400 and 1500 blocks of Pandosy form 5:30 am until 6 pm.
Up-to-date parking space availability for the Library Plaza Parkade (1360 Ellis Street), Memorial Parkade (1420 Ellis Street) and Chapman Parkade (345 Lawrence Avenue) is available here.
Don’t forget that the Downtown Kelowna Association is also hosting its fall Small Shop campaign this weekend from Sept. 22-24, which supports local businesses in the downtown area.
