The Kelowna Fire Department (KFD) quickly knocked down a tire fire at a local business Sunday morning.
Around 5 am, firefighters responded to an outdoor fire at the Kelowna Canadian Tire store on Leckie Road.
The first arriving crews reported a stack of tires on fire and a command unit with a second engine was requested.
The fire was quickly knocked down and prevented from extending into the building. However, the building's exterior concrete wall sustained heat and smoke damage.
The blaze is considered suspicious and there were no injuries to the public or fire crews.
KFD responded with two engines, a command unit and nine personnel. The RCMP also attended the scene.
The fire will not affect business operations.
