The Okanagan’s biggest plant-based festival is returns today for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic.
The third annual VegFest will be taking over the Westbank Lions Community Centre from 10 am until 4 pm.
The family-friendly event will feature vendors, food, speakers, workshops, live music and activities for the kids.
Nearly 50 vendors will be on site offering up the best plant-based food from several restaurants in the Okanagan and beyond. There will also be artisans with art pieces and books, health and beauty products and more.
Entry is by donation with all proceeds going to support the organizer’s two chosen charities: EcoCooks and Star’s Piggly Wiggly’s Sanctuary.
EcoCook is a “plant-powered, planet-positive” youth education program and Star’s is a pig rescue and sanctuary in Summerland.
Organizers will be offering the first 100 people to show up a goody bag full of plant-based treats and more.
