Uber Eats has arrived in the Central Okanagan

It’s been a few weeks since Uber finally launched in the Central Okanagan and now the company’s food delivery service has arrived as well.

Uber Eats announced today that it’s now available in six more British Columbian cities, which includes Kelowna.

The service area covers virtually all of West Kelowna as well.

“These days, supporting your favourite restaurants isn’t always easy,” said Lola Kassim, general manager of Uber Eats Canada.

“We are committed to working with the city’s restaurant scene to bring you the best Kelowna has to offer at the touch of a button.”

The app is launching with more than 60 local spots to choose from and will surely expand that selection over the coming weeks and months.

For now, options like The Curious Café, Pizza Studio, McDonald’s and Komatsu Japanese Market are all available through Uber Eats.

“I’m really excited to partner with Uber Eats,” explained Daekeon Cho from Komatsu.

“The platform generates a new revenue stream for us, while providing a new and convenient option for our customers to enjoy our food.”

Central Okanagan residents can sign up for Uber Eats through the app and there’s even a promo code (2021EATS) for $30 off the first order.

“Delivery platforms can offer a new revenue stream for local restaurants, providing access to a network of delivery people and an audience of new customers,” explains a press release.

“With Uber Eats, restaurants can choose between flexible options like 0% pick-up, 7.5% for online ordering and 15% for restaurants who use their own delivery staff in addition to our full-service option.”

The rapidly-expanding Uber Eats is now available in more than 120 Canadian cities.
