There's a message outside BLK Box, that states: Abs are made in this kitchen. It's a signal to fitness buffs that this is a place for them.
But, it's more than that. Look at the menu and you discover a fresh take on what we used to call a health food restaurant.
There's a new place at Landmark that represents a whole new take on take-out.
"Our whole model is 'how can we create delicious food, our favourite dishes and make them as low calorie as possible'," said co-owner Greg Sebell.
The BLK Box menu is focused on high protein, lower fat and low carbohydrate options.
"People are more aware of what they're putting in their bodies now than ever," said Sebell.
"You're fueling your body every day. Why not put good things in your body? It also tastes delicious."
The idea behind BLK Box is to make it easy for people to make healthy eating choices. But they still found a way to include come "cheats and treats" too.
"If you're a fitness freak," explained Sebell, "and you go to the gym all the time and you're prepping meals every day and you're tired of rice and chicken and broccoli, this is an answer to that."
The menu board provides not just the list of offerings and prices, but the nutritional content of each item as well.
"The macros are all laid out, your protein, your fat, your calories your carbs. We do that all for you, so it's easy."
But the business is designed to appeal to a much broader clientele than that. People who are just trying to eat healthier, watch their weight and make healthier choices are also in mind.
"There's so many different diets," explained Sebell, "so many different trends. We try to just make it simple."
Sebell operates the business along with partner Lonnie Van Diest.
"We're a really good tag team. He is so well versed in culinary," said Sebell.
"He brings that side of things. I bring the marketing and creative and visual side of things. Together we've developed a menu with some local chefs and personal trainers and it's a pretty fun team."
