Registration is now open for the 2nd Annual Grindstone Women’s Charity Tournament.
The Grindstone Award Foundation is a registered Canadian charity that provides financial support and equipment to female hockey players in need.
In 2017, 200 players from all over the province, Alberta and Washington competed in Girls Rock the Rink and the Charity Women's Tournament.
This event raised enough to provide 10 female hockey players across Canada grants so they could continue their dream of playing hockey. Watch the video below and meet Johanna, the first grant recipient. Johanna's family was just one of the families supported.
"Our goal this year is to make this weekend bigger and better in hopes to raise enough funds to support 30 female hockey players for this upcoming season," said Danielle Grundy, president of the Grindstone Award Foundation.
The Charity Women's Tournament will take place July 20-22, 2018 at the Capital News Centre for $120 per player. All proceeds going to charity. Open to ALL women of various skill levels.
The tournament will feature four games, a skills competition and many off ice extras.
**The first 100 players to register will be entered to win a $100 Sport Chek GC! **
The Grindstone’s Girls Rock the Rink is the perfect opportunity for your daughter to give hockey a try for the first time or to learn some new skills with friends on July 21st.
