Kelowna Aquajets had 12 swimmers represent the club at the Age Group Championship meet in Vancouver.
The small team swam to 78 best times and placed 12th out of 38 teams.
It was all about sevens for 12-year-old KAJ swimmer Aiden Kirk over the weekend. He swam seven events, swam to seven best times, won seven gold medals and set seven new KAJ club records in the 100 back, 200 fly, back, breast & free, 400 IM and 400 free. To top off a great weekend, he also set two new meet records in the 400 free and 200 fly! Scott Watson was also a medal winner, swimming to a bronze medal in 100 free as well as swimming to 100% best times.
Other swimmers that set new KAJ club records were had by Emilie Golinowski who broke club records in the 10&Under girls 200 back and 200 IM also swam to 100% best times and this was Emilie’s first Age Group Championships. Liam Chew set 2 new club records for the 10&Under boys 200 breast and 200 fly and swam to 5 best times.
Those swimmers who were competing at the Age Group Championship meet for the first time were Avery Deis who dropped 20 seconds in her 200 free also swam to 100% best times. Amelia Ahn Lou shaved 12 seconds off her 200 free and swam to 100% best times. Caede Manzini swam to 100% best times and Grace Paoletich also swam to 100% best times and took off 14 seconds in her 200 back.
Other strong performances were had by Jared Moore who swam to one shy of 100% best times, Sawyer Nabozniak who swam to 5 best times and dropped 20 seconds in his 200 fly. Juliet Nicholson who took off 12 seconds in her 200 breast, 17 in 200 free and 20 in her 200 fly also swam to 100% best times while Dakota Wiman had the largest drop-in time of 28 seconds in her 400IM.
