Last weekend, the Big White Ski Club (BWSC) had eight athletes travel to Purden Mountain for the Teck U14 Provincial Championships hosted by the Prince George Ski Club.
There were 166 athletes in attendance from all over B.C.
The four-day event started on Thursday with a training day for athletes only as the mountain was closed to the public.
The athletes were treated to not only the mountain to themselves, but 46 centimetres of fresh powder on the entire hill as only the race run was groomed!
On Friday, the race was Slalom where Benjamin Hare made the top ten placing eighth and Finley Cashin was awarded most improved landing in 14th.
The top placing female was Liv Willoughby at 39th.
Saturday was Giant Slalom where Finley Cashin was the top placing BWSC athete at 23rd and Lola Gulyas was the top female from the club at 50th.
The day closed with a full banquet for the coaches and athletes where the awards took place.
On the closing day of the event, there was a fun mixed dual slalom race where coaches and athletes were sorted into random teams and all the everyone was able to get to know and build relationships with their new teammates from different parts of the province.
The event was a ton of fun and everyone enjoyed it thoroughly!
