Kelowna Chiefs donate funds from Grant Sheridan sticker campaign

This season, every KIJHL team has been wearing a GS sticker on their helmets.

GS, of course, stands for Grant Sheridan, the Chiefs’ former president and owner who passed away this past summer after a battle with bacterial menangitis.

The sticker turned into a full blown campaign to raise money in Sheridan’s name and on Saturday, Jan. 11, the Chiefs donated the money raised.

Team captain Myles Mattilla and president Jason Tansom, a dear friend of Sheridan’s, were able to present a cheque for $1,744 to Jarrod Stocker from the Okanagan Boys and Girls Club.

It was a cause very important to Sheridan and a release from the team said “it was an honour to present the club with this cheque.”

Kelowna won the game 4-0 over the Princeton Posse and you can catch the team in action again this Saturday when they host the Summerland Steam at Rutland Arena.
