Kelowna Falcons looking for series sweep in anticipated firefighter’s game

The Kelowna Falcons are at home and looking to end their homestand with a series sweep against the Edmonton Riverhawks.

Thursday’s match is the team’s annual Firefighter’s Night, where all proceeds from the front gate will be donated to the Professional Firefighters Burn Fund.

While trying to get the win, the Falcons will be wearing special uniforms in honour of the occasion.

According to the team, more than $200,000 has been raised between the Falcons and the Kelowna Fire Department towards the cause over the past 15 years.

Kelowna is coming off a 12-3 victory against the Riverhawks, in which the Falcons scored five runs in the first inning and six in the eighth.

There are numerous activities for families to enjoy at the ballpark, including in-between-inning competitions on the diamond, bouncy castles and a dunk tank planned for tonight.

First pitch is at 6:35 pm at the historic Elks Stadium and gates will open one hour earlier.
